The Friday

Here comes friday once again, the day where all the uniform groups had training. I really don't know if I dread it or look forward to it. First, my friends were all there and it would be really fun, OR... my seniors would have a bad mood and give us a really bad time.
I did not go for the past two trainings as my leg was still healing (as you can see from my previous post). And I heard that my friends were knocked down in the rain in our no. 3 uniform, in case you do not know what that means, it means they were forced to do push ups in the very uncomfortable uniform and had to put their berets on their hand so it does not touch the floor, and it was raining heavily.
Alright, back to the story, it was a friday and I had my CCA training. We started to change into our uniforms once again, and guess what.. I forgot to bring my beret. Thoughts of doing endless push-ups occured in my mind, and at the same time my friends were thanking me. Well why? Because if one person did not have a beret, everyone would not need to wear the beret, and everyone hated wearing it. You must be thinking that i should have been happy, but it felt different as i was the one who did not bring it, and would probably have extra punishments. It was raining that day too and I hoped it would rain for the whole day, so we would not go out and need not wear our beret, as our beret would only need to be worn when we are out of shelter.
Just then, the rain stopped. Fear striked my heart as my senior said: 'Go to the parade square! I give you thirty seconds!' Fortunately, one of my other seniors did not bring beret too, so I was given a chance. We did our freestyle drill practice and the other uniform groups were there too, I saw one of the CCAs playing frisbee and their frisbee fell down from the parade square twice, which is actually five floors down. While the red cross uniform group played water bomb, everyone looked enviously as we were doing boring stuff.
What an interesting day at school, I did many mistakes but were so fortunate to be let off at everything. School is fun!....sometimes....

Drawing

Ever since primary school, when I was bored during my leisure time I would start drawing on blank pieces of A4 paper. Usually, I would copy the characters on the Maplestory prepaid cards that my friend gave to me. As a small kid, I found these cartoon games very interesting.
They were cartoon characters based on the game Maplestory, and of different jobs that u can get in the game. However, I soon ran out of cards and got bored of just copying, and I took it to a whole a new level of creating my own characters by using my imagination to think of special abilities for the character. It was fun and entertaining to me as life in primary school did not have much homework or much to study. I began draw much more other games other than maplestory, I was quite a gamer last time and even now. Sadly, life in secondary school was not so easy, we could not get an 'A' easily without studying. And even after studying, a 'B' is not comfirmed. So now most of the time is spent on the endless homework, leaving me barely any leisure time.
Many think that its a waste of time, but I find it amazing that when I draw, I would start thinking about the character moving and fighting even though its just a piece of paper. It is as if the picture comes to life in my brain. Drawing is a great hobby for all, alone or in a group, it gives much joy and makes the person keep his brains working. It is a calm activity, in which one can relax and slow down his thoughts in this fast changing world.

The green worm

When I saw the topic on something unusual, I could not help but think about what happened on the day I went out to eat Macdonalds with my friends after school...

It was a sunny friday afternoon, and school had just ended at 1.05pm. My friends had NPCC training that afternoon, while I had NCC training. They wanted to go Macdonalds to eat, being good friends as they were, they asked me to tag along. I willingly accepted their invitation. The location was at siglap centre, about two bus stops away from our school by taking the bus 155. It was a long wait, the bus usually took more than 10 minutes, unless we were really unlucky. When we reached the area, we had to cross the road to the centre to have our meal. At Macdonalds, we ate happily as we talked about school and classmates. We had an enjoyable time, then suddenly my friend Faizur dropped chilli sauce on his pants, staining it. We all laughed, however my friend Benedict could not stop laughing.
From the Macdonalds we walked back to school, and Benedict was laughing all the way. When we reached the bus stop beside our school side gate, all of a sudden there was a green small object on Benedict's shirt. As I looked closer, to my horror it was a green worm and it was moving and leaving green stains on his shirt! I immediately warned Benedict, he was shocked too and tried to shake it off but to no avail. Just then, our classmate Marcus was at the bus stop. Benedict borrowed his 30cm ruler and swiped it off with one hit. However, the most hilarious thing was that the wormed swung 180 degrees and landed back on his shirt, leaving yet another green patch. Then with another hit, it finally got off. Now, there was Benedict and his green stained shirt, and we all laughed at him.

What an unusual and hilarious day that everything was so unexpected. Still till today, me and my friends would recall it and have a good laugh.

A day at Chinatown

It was a fine evening and my family and I are heading out to Chinatown to visit my aunt. We took a long train ride down straight to Chinatown station. Fortunately, I brought along my nintendo ds hand-held game console to play along to ride, or I would be bored to tears.

When we reached our destination, we saw many beautifully lit up fake trees along the road. After some admiration, we went to eat at a hawker centre near the station, we tried lots of food recommended by our aunt who lived there. Everything was tasty and mouth-watering, I would sure be looking forward to them on our next return.

Then, after having that sumptious feast, we went to shop at the shopping mall just beside the hawker centre. The air-conditioner really gave us a peace of mind as one meal in the hawker centre already caused us to be drenched with sweat. After a tiresome trying of clothes, I bought some shirts and also a few pair of jeans for the new year.
At this time, it was already 8.00 at night. We went for a final desert at one of the streets at the other side of Chinatown. I found this dessert store recommended by my aunt very familiar. I thought long and hard, finally it came to my mind. It was the same dessert store we went to at Ion Orchard! It was so delicious I could not forget it. The menu was the worse part, everything looks so nice I did not know which to choose. In the end, Me and my sister chose the mango ice dessert which was great but it was so cold that we could not finish it.
Finally, it was too late and we had to return home as I had school the next day. We were tired and reluctant but on the other hand was happy and satisfied with our day.

An unforgettable experience

About one month ago, a viral wart began forming on the sole of my right foot due to some virus infection. And it did not seem much as a threat then as I did not feel any pain, and I took it for granted. I played soccer at school and even played barefooted on the beach once, totally ignoring it. Days unknowingly flew by as I led my daily life. I could notice the wart growing bigger but it still did not bother me much.

It was until the wart worsened that I felt the pain as I walk each day, so I decided to see a doctor at a polyclinic. However, he said I had to approach a skin specialist for treatment to remove it. Two weeks ago on 3rd January, I was referred to the dermatology clinic at Changi Hospital in Simei and the treatment started on that very day. It was quite a tedious process where they had to slowly scrape off the outer layer of the skin where the wart grows. Then there was the next procedure, the freezing treatment where liquid nitrogen was sprayed directly on the wart. I felt tremendous pain.

Two weeks passed and here comes...my second dreaded treatment, which was done few hours ago today! This time it was even more painful, the treatment was longer as it was done by a different doctor, he was very patient and tried his best to remove the whole wart at one go so I need not go back in future to undergo the painful process again. It seemed he has removed most of the wart. Hopefully, it would be my last time visiting the hospital for the treatment and the remaining wart will drop off by the effects of the liquid nitrogen as soon as possible.

This unforgettable experience would forever be etched in my mind to remind me to change my attitude. I have learned that I should not take small matters for granted as they will slowly become a big problem!
